Isle of Man to hold Green Grand Prix
By admin on Jun 23, 2008 in Energy

The Isle of Man is set to stage the worlds first ever Clean Emissions Grand Prix on the island next year. The TTxGP event is scheduled for June 2009 and will provide an exciting opportunity for leading global innovators in racing and clean emission technologies to compete and prove to the world that being green does not mean being slow.
A range of two and three-wheeled vehicles capable of reaching Grand Prix speeds will take part in the event on the TT circuit. It is expected that international corporations, universities and advanced technology institutions will back the racing teams.
As part of the event there will also be an ‘open’ class race for innovative so-called cottage teams interested in experimenting with alternative energy sources.
However, these teams will be required to build their vehicle to a set budget using only off-the-shelf power sources.
