Takes longer than 3 seconds for 1 cup more like 20 seconds, spits and splutters water everywhere. It is also a hazard to young children and must be turned off at the plug when not in use to avoid any accidents. Also I am not to sure how green this kettle is as the filters need replacing every 4weeks. We bought ours from Costco for a little over £30, it will be going back in the coming weeks for a full no quibble refund when we find a better product that can boil either 1 cup at a time or keep the water warm for a few hours.
