The Sunday Times has today launched a search for the most environmentally friendly companies in the UK. The project follows other successful surveys, such as the The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, and the results are expected to be published next May.
Working with Bureau Veritas, which is one of the world’s main environmental management consultancies, and Munro Global, the leading market-research group, The Sunday Times has produced a survey that asks questions which assess the environmental performance of a business.
The survey will collect information on environmental management, such as recycling, energy use and carbon footprint. It will also enable companies to describe their environmental objectives and efforts to increase awareness of green issues in the workplace.
So, how environmentally friendly is your business? If you think your company works hard to be as green as possible, why not apply. Applications can be made now and the competition will remain open until February 29, 2008. For more details, visit the website by clicking here.

One of the most unreported industries that has been the resale clothing industry. They sort through old clothing and export or resell the recycled clothing. Clothing that cannot be resold is cut into wiping rags and sold to businesses for further recycling.
